Mud Pie Ceramics is a pottery studio offering pottery painting and pottery wheel tuition.
Ideally situated near the town centre, Horley, we are often complimented on our lovely atmosphere and excellent service and care for our customers.
You can really forget the world outside the door and get stuck in to being creative - come on in and try us. Don’t think you’re creative ? You don’t have to be, our staff are here to help you as much or as little as you need.

How does it work ?
We always recommend that you phone first to book a table, but we’ll always do our best to make you welcome. You pay for your piece of pottery (our cheapest item starts at £2 for a fridge magnet/brooch and goes right up to £30 for a large platter plate) plus a studio fee of £4.

The studio fee depends on what type of paints you choose and covers the costs of the paints, facilities and clear glazing or firing of your finished masterpiece ! The studio fee is charged once per visit and remains the same whatever you choose to paint and for however ever long you stay!

1) Choose your pottery piece from the shelves - all of the prices are clearly displayed. Choose a table and we will explain how to use the paints.
2) Glazes - Studio fee £4 - Glazes are softer, gentle colours and will be water safe so can be used on bowls, cups, plates etc. When finished, your masterpiece will be fired (baked) in the kiln and we’ll call you when it’s ready for collection (usually 2 - 3 days).
Choose your colours - glazes are soft, gently colours and will be water and dishwasher safe.

3) Have great fun painting your pottery - if you’re stuck for ideas or techniques, just say ! We have loads of stencils, ideas and fun ways to paint ! We love to help you get the most out of your visit.

Baby keepsake printing ! The ideal way to create a treasured keepsake. Bring your baby in and we’ll print their feet (under 2's) or hands and/or feet (over 2's) on your chosen piece of pottery. Imagine grandma’s face when she gets her lovely mug with little ones feet on or how special a plate will be displayed on the nursery wall with little ones prints on forever. We’ll be very gentle (we’re all Mum’s so we know how special little feet are!) and depending on how many items you wish to be painted we can complete the printing in 10 - 20 minutes. We have a tub of warm bubbly water ready at the table for washing and drying in big soft towels.

Commemorative plates
Getting married soon ? Who needs your guests to sign a book when they can sign a plate which we’ll glaze and you’ll have to keep forever!
We’ll work closely with you on designs and colours and we love weddings so will make sure your memory plate is perfect! Commemorative plates also work brilliantly for retirement parties, birthday parties, christenings, the ideas are endless !
